Gareth Jones
Assistant Principal
Gareth grew up in Anglesey, North Wales, and at 18, moved to Liverpool to pursue a Mathematics degree at the University of Liverpool. After falling in love with the city, he stayed to complete his PGCE at Liverpool Hope University in 2004. Gareth began his teaching career at Culcheth High School in Warrington. Three years later, he joined St Margaret’s Church of England School as Lead Coordinator, supporting the school’s specialist status.
After nearly five years at St Margaret’s, Gareth moved to King David High School, where he served as Assistant Subject Leader of Mathematics and Pupil Progress Leader for Years 8 and 9. Following five successful years in this role, he became Head of the Mathematics and Computing Faculty at St Edward’s College in West Derby.
In August 2023, Gareth joined the Dixons Trust as Assistant Principal, where he played a key role in developing and implementing the Mathematics curriculum across the Dixons schools. He now oversees data and assessment at Dixons Fazakerley Academy.
