Having completed a Law degree at Thames Valley University, Lisa qualified as a secondary English teacher in 1989. After ten years there, she returned to the UK and worked  in a large secondary school in London as Head of Department .She came back home to the north west to work for 8 years at Tarleton Academy where she was a teacher of English and Head of Learning Support and where, in 2015, she gained the SENDCo Award from Edge Hill University. She also gained the qualification of a certified coach within an educational setting .In the academic year 2014/15, OFSTED rated her teaching as ‘Outstanding’. She moved to The Studio School in 2016 to be their SENDCo and in 2021, became the SENDCo for both the Studio school and Liverpool Life Sciences UTC.

She has recently started a new job as the SENDCo for Dixons Fazakerley Academy and a teacher of English. She is excited to join DFA and is passionate about championing and supporting the needs of DFA’s students with special and/or additional needs by creating a robust set of systems that includes identifying and assessing need, planning support strategies, implementing the strategies, ideas and interventions and reviewing the effectiveness of the support. She is always looking to improve the quality of support that is offered and is excited to work with the children and alongside the families in the community that DFA serves.

Lisa is an avid reader and loves strolling around an art gallery or museum in whichever city she is lucky enough to visit.
