Computing Students Blast Off with Astro Pi Mission Zero
Posted 8th November 2024
Students at Dixons Fazakerley Academy recently embarked on an exciting journey with Astro Pi Mission Zero. In their computing lessons, Year 8 students wrote a computer program that were sent to the International Space Station!
They practiced valuable skills including coding, problem-solving and data analysis. By designing experiments and analysing data from sensors on the Astro Pi, students gained a deeper understanding of space and technology and used codes to control the Astro Pi's sensors, collecting data about conditions on the ISS.
This real-world experience inspired our students and showed them the practical applications of computing. Mrs Smylie and Mr Ihenacho are extremely proud of our young computer scientists!
