The Cameo church group celebrated the festive season this week at their much-anticipated annual Pensioner Christmas Party. Held at Dixons Fazakerley Academy, the event brought together 35 members of the church group who enjoyed an afternoon filled with delicious food, festive music and heartwarming community spirit.
Chartwells catered the event with a mouthwatering Christmas dinner that included all the trimmings. Diners praised the meal, with local resident Elaine Lucas remarking, “We have had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, and the children performed brilliantly.”
Adding to the festive atmosphere, students from DFA entertained the guests with performances of Christmas classics such as Last Christmas and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. Their enthusiastic singing and charming stage presence left the audience smiling and clapping along.
“The children brought so much joy to the room,” said a delighted attendee. “They were so well mannered and a delight to speak to. A credit to their families and the school.”
The event has become a beloved tradition and has grown in popularity over the last 3 years. It offers a chance for local pensioners to come together, share a meal, and enjoy a day of entertainment and companionship.
“We’re thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new ones, too,” said Kim Harrison, the event organiser. “This event is about spreading joy and making sure everyone feels part of the community during the Christmas season. We are always happy to welcome members of the local community into our school.”
As the party drew to a close, guests left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and a little extra holiday cheer to carry them through the festive season.
