Y11 geographers visit to Loggerheads
Posted 26th September 2023
On Monday 25 September, our Y11 geographers visited Loggerheads in North Wales to measure width, depth and velocity along the River Alyn. The aim of the day was to collect data to test our hypotheses so that we could investigate what happened to each of the variables as we moved from the source of the river to the mouth. This will support students in completing their paper three, Geographical Applications exam next Summer.
Throughout the day our students conducted themselves impeccably and demonstrated our DFA core values of determination, integrity and respect in everything they did.
They also developed their geographical understanding of fluvial systems and their application of a variety of methodologies, which further helped improve their communication, teamwork and problem solving skills.
Well done Y11. You were outstanding.
